Escape

She escaped in order not to feel

In the day and during the night

Somehow she knew this felt right.

She even escaped around her mate

She once tried to tell him while on a date

The conversation changed so she now had to wait

She escaped in order to get it all done

She had to take care of the little ones.

The band aid she used kept her numb.

She escaped to allow herself to heal

It allowed her to continue to peel

By escaping she was able to also keep it real.
